To get started a new online store with Shopify, you:
- No need to buy domain names
- Do not lose advertising money
- No need to give away free products
- Not offering to friends and relatives
You've never heard about it before. How can you do that?
This is our plan:
The first day: Search and select products in the niche market
Second day: Set up a store on Shopify and post products on it
The third day: Start the business of a trader.
Day 1: Search for niche markets
Wait a minute... what is the niche market? The niche market is a small market in a large market. I recommend finding out what the niche market is before you continue.
Currently, if you do not have an idea of what product to sell, you should avoid the following products:
-Electronic products are fragile, easy to be damaged and require warranty Grocery products? It is easily damaged and it must be checked carefully before exporting and importing.
-Heavy products increase transportation costs.
-Products related to health, cosmetics? Like food, it is always checked very severely.
-Product is worth over 24 USD. Under German / European law, the orders over $24 will have to pay a tax of 19% on products imported from countries outside the EU. After we have identified the scope of the product, we will start looking for a specific product to start a business:
+ Step 1: Find product suppliers
I make an example of Aliexpress.com. It is a famous E-commerce site in China. You can find all the items from small to large here at very good prices. We can find ideas about a product by going to Top Selling. This is a list of the items that are selling well.
I suppose choose Camera Bag is my product. I decided to trade this item.
+ Step 2: Market research:
In step 1, I have chosen Camera Bag. However, this is just a feeling and I do not know the real needs of the market. Although Camera Bag is a top-selling product on Ali Express, it does not mean that the market needs it. I’m targeting these countries such as the UK, France, USA, Canada ...To know this, we need a tool to measure Camera Bag keyword search traffic. There are many tools, I would like to introduce a free tool called Google Trends.
Google Trends is a search trend feature that shows how frequently a given search term is entered into Google's search engine relative to the site's total search volume over a given period of time. It's great, with this tool, the graph shows an upward trend. This means that the number of people interested in this product is very high. It’s a plain proof for a potential product. However, Google Trends tool only helps us learn about the search trends by month and year in a general way.
To delve deeper and deeper we need another, more powerful and detailed tool. It’s the Google Global Market Finder. The Google Global Market Finder helps you find out which markets are interested in this product and what is the monthly search level? The value of keywords on Google is high or low, what keywords that the market is looking for ...
We’ve applied with Camera bag keyword and get the following results:
+ Step 3: Evaluate the hotness of products on social networks
Have you ever wondered if any tools to help us know how many ABC products have articles, shares, like... on social network sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter? How is the product you are preparing to do business spread on social networks?
Keyhole is a tool that helps us analyze how a keyword is being shared and interested in Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. We’ve applied with the keyword Camera bag. And this is the result:
When there is the right product, before market launch, we need to analyze competitors who are providing the same category. This also helps us see the consumer buying power as well as customer reviews about this product. It is also essential to study the selling price of the competitor, helping us to get the most reasonable price. In Competitors analysis, I often rely on big sales channels such as Amazon, eBay, Wal-mart ... You can use one or more channels at the same time. In this example I only use Amazon.
The first day you are done.
I will end the Part I of getting started professional sales with Shopify in just 15 minutes here, please wait for the next part in the next week.
See you later!
